So this being a Utah Holiday weekend we unfortunately didn't join in the festivities. Thursday was a regular workday for my husband but I did get it off. So what did I do? Grocery Shopping!!! YEA! I took the girls with me to Sams Club where my plan was to start buying things to stock our new freezer and to add back to our food storage. I've made it my personal goal to get a somewhat decent sized food storage together by the end of the summer. My mom was telling me that things could get worse before they get better economically and that we should be prepared for a trucker strike due to high fuel prices. Take it how you want it but it can't hurt to be slightly prepared. We'll just say the Punkin didn't really share in my enthusiasm. She whined and cried through the whole store, we had to go to the potty twice (the first time someone flushed the toilet next to us and it was so loud it scared her, so she wouldn't go.) Apparently public bathrooms are a terrifying place for the newly potty trained. The worse part is that I had Peanut in her car seat and and had to drag her in the stall with us, thank the lord for handicap stalls. Inevitably and thankfully and $200 later we were outta there. When Dallas got home from work I left again to resume the rest of my grocery shopping at Smiths and Walmart. Friday I dove into preparing some freezer dinners. I made 3 Chicken Manicotti's, 1 Lasagna, 4 Bags of Spaghetti Sauce, and 3 Bags of Taco meat. It was kinda fun. I also snapped a few photos of Peanut sharing her Bink with Shag and trying to eat her feet.

Saturday we had a huge family yard sale at my grandmothers house. We try to do it annually. We usually end up hauling most of our stuff to the DI in the end. But I just enjoy getting together and doing it all with my family. I also got to see my cousins new baby who is a week old, she is so cute. She makes Peanut look like a giant. They were the same size at birth so it just made me sad that Peanut will never be that tiny and cuddly again. After we got home from the yard sale my Dad delivered our new toy. We're so excited, but I think the one who is most excited is Punkin, she couldn't wait to take it for a spin.

We are hoping to take it with us on our camping trip in September. It will be nice to have our own toy and not borrow from my parents and my brother anymore.

Hi-
I found your blog when I was googling about food storage. My friend and I just started a food storage and emergency preparation website - it's a step-by-step guide for beginners and non-beginners alike! Please check us out - I hope it can help you!

you can start putting that money you spend at Sams and sometimes get MORE! I kid not. I spent 25o last friday and got 35o worth of stuff! I did have to go to several stores to get those deals, but it sounds like you're already doing it. I never even thought about a trucker strike! UGH!
BTW< I put up a few freebie scrap links on my blog. :} Ones I didn't give you as I just found them! Lol
And nice toy!
