So the second week of the layout page is here and here is my new creation, I actually really love this one. I don't know if it's just because it takes me nearly ten years back to a wonderful time in my life or makes me remember how far we've come. Who's the cutest baby ever?!?

This weekend we put Peanut in the Harrisville Heritage Days Baby Contest. We put Punkin in the same contest when she was about ten months old. The first time we did it was absolutely horrible, it was poorly planned and executed. This year was much better. I don't really know what they did to improve, but whatever it was worked. Punkin had won bluest eyes a couple years back. Peanut won tallest and skinniest this year. She was a shoe in for tallest because she was the only one entered into that category. She had one contender in the skinniest and it was a no brainer. I had a hard time entering her because she didn't fit with hardly any categories. She isn't bald, but doesn't have the most or craziest hair, she doesn't have big, green, blue, or really brown eyes as of yet (we think brown). She's certainly isn't the shyest or most energetic. She isn't chubby or short. She isn't the fastest crawler because she isn't crawling at all. The other two categories I entered her into were cutest smile and most photogenic. Regardless, she has the cutest smile in my eyes. And as for the most photogenic, who knows. When the competition brings fully framed outrageously professional and probably touched up photos, of course we'll lose. I take the term photogenic to mean photographs well. This is the photo I submitted, not professional, totally candid, and super precious. As for the rest of the contest it was all in all good. We came home with our two certificates, a bag of goodies which included about ten diapers, a cute book, crackers, a t-shirt commemorating the event, and a cookie monster puppet.

Punkin also had her share of fun. She got to play some games, one her favorites was the giant bubble maker. When she got the bubble big enough she quickly reached to grab it, it was really quite comical. She loves to create and destroy.

After we went home and took our naps we went to my parents house to celebrate my dad and grandmothers birthdays. August 1st marks the month of birthdays for us. We BBQ'd and did presents and all that fun stuff. Later Punkin ventured into the back yard where the butterflies are. They loved her shirt and she loved them. For a kid who hates and is terrified of bugs, she is fascinated by butterflies. Dallas hid in the bushes to capture her innocence in her discoveries. My parents have a backyard that is fun for kids and adults alike. It's full of trees and fun things to look at and play in. But I will end this post abruptly for we are off to shop for a new refrigerator, as ours is peeing on the kitchen floor from a source unknown. Wish us luck.

This morning I was going through my emails and came across a link to Johnson and Johnson's website. It was for a beautiful hair contest for the detangling hair products they carry, and since Punkin has super curly hair we live by detangling spray. So I thought that this was the perfect photo contest to put her in so here are the results of our photo shoot.
