Gems and Minerals

Yesterday, my Mom and I took the girls with us to the Gem and Mineral Show at the Union Station in Ogden. I know what your thinking, ooohh, sounds like a "rockin" good time. Really this is kind of turned into a tradition. My mom used to take my brother and I when we were younger and since then my mom and I still manage to make this yearly jaunt. I'll be honest, I don't go for the minerals. I always usually find at least one piece of jewelry for myself, and my mom always finds a birthday present for me too, but I don't know that ;). Last year we hit the jackpot in the jewelry department, this year wasn't as successful. Of course last year we didn't have the kids with us so browsing was much easier. Although, we visited areas that we don't usually get near and it was great for Punkin. She got to paint a rock. I know, exciting right? Well, when your three, anytime you get to goop globs of paint onto anything it's a thrill.

Another Great Weekend

This weekend was sooo busy. After the Dinosaur Park we went to Dallas mom's apartment for dinner and swimming. I had no idea what a fish Punkin was. That girl has no fear. She started off in the pool with a little life jacket, that lasted all of 5 minutes. Then to the inflated ring. When she notices other kids jumping off the side of the pool she wanted to, so Dallas and his mom obliged. She started with the ring on, the quickley ditched it. She didn't want to stop, she was dunking under and kept wanting more. It was great for me and Peanut to watch from the side, I was completely entertained.
Saturday we painted our master bathroom (finally), installed new fixtures, medicine cabinet, and a new toilet tank (thanks to me dropping the lid to the old one). It looks so much better than the ugly green the previous owners had used. We were so busy this weekend but surprisingly rested. It was satisfying knowing that we could have fun and accomplish a household project and not feel like we missed something.
